Neil derives great satisfaction in painting and drawing. Colours, places, moods, new tubes of paint and other artists inspires him to get ideas down onto canvas, paper and digitally.
He comments: “The act of creating is a great escape from the pressures of life and everyone should try it!”
Neil paints landscapes in acrylic and watercolour, as well as portraits in pencil and classic vehicle illustrations in gouache. His paintings have sold in Spain, Portugal, America, Finland and France as well as the UK.
He is also an accomplished photographer and graphic designer.
Born in Dagenham in 1948, Neil has had a varied career as an illustrator, art director and graphic designer working for leading London advertising and design consultancies during the 70s and 80s. He then established a design consultancy in Dedham with his wife Sandy.
They have now returned to Suffolk after 14 years living in the south west of France running art courses. The countryside of France was the inspiration for Neil’s work as is the Suffolk and Norfolk landscapes.
He accepts painting, illustration, photography and design commissions.
