Creative Sharing Summit

Join us at the Creative Sharing Summit to explore how sharing resources – our space, skills and stuff – can empower communities to work together to become more than the sum of their parts, providing more opportunities for people to connect with each other, culture and the arts, and become more resilient and dynamic.

Rachel will introduce ways of approaching community-led economic development, starting from the basis that social, environmental and economic outcomes are equally important.

An afternoon of workshops will connect people to explore how we can work together to share resources that will help improve the places we live in.
MarketPlace: Displays by local organisations already using a sharing approach will show their work and enable conversations to help us all learn more.
Aims: To discover the benefits of sharing To share practical case-study experiences for inspiration To bring people together to share ideas and make connections for real-life actions This event is a follow up to the Creative Workspace Summit of 2018 and the Creative Centres Summit of 2019 and will be of interest to: local residents, artists, creatives, students, budding entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in creating vibrant and dynamic town centres and high streets.
Participatory City (Barking and Dagenham)
Participatory City’s Creative People and Places funded project, Every One Every Day, initiative builds on the imaginative ‘hands on’ projects that people have been creating over the last few years in their own neighbourhoods.
Homebaked Community Land Trust (Liverpool)
Britt Jurgensen wll talk about Homebaked Community Land Trust, a community led housing and enterprise scheme connected to a cooperative bakery that was initiated through a project by artist Jeanne van Heeswijk.
Norwich City Council’s Community Enabling Team (Norwich)
Kate Price, Dan Harris, Emma Penfold and Sam Moon will talk about various projects they have worked on including Norwich Notes (a community currency project) and LUMi (a way to share spaces, skills and stuff).
Tickets include lunch provided by La Mexicana and refreshments upon arrival and in the afternoon.
Free tickets will be available for anyone who presents a stall at the Marketplace.

The Creative Sharing Summit is hosted by originalprojects; and ENJOY – Great Yarmouth It is part of Making Waves Together , a wider partnership project led jointly by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and East Suffolk Council and funded by the national Great Place Scheme , which is seeing communities and organisations in both areas work together to boost the cultural offer and drive cultural re-imagination as a way of supporting success in the seaside towns.
